4/12/2013: Day 23

I am suffering from writer’s block tonight so if this post is short and uninformative,  I apologize.

My mind just seems to be a blank!  I think it’s a carb hangover or maybe the fact that it’s after 1am might have something to do with it.  I can’t help it.  This is the time at night when it’s easiest to get things done. I am open to suggestions from all you Super Moms on a better way (I would love to bear the title of  Super Mom but I mess up too much)!

Zzzzz Zzzzzzzz    Zzzzzzzz    Zzzzzzzz………………………..

UPDATE:  This is the part where I fell asleep!  I was sitting in bed trying to clear my mind so I could get this post completed and the next thing I know my husband woke me up to tell me I needed to lay down or go to bed or something (it’s all still kind of blurry…after all I was asleep).  So I’m finishing up this morning with a clear head!  I will still be writing as if it were yesterday (the 12th) so it won’t be too confusing, especially for me. 🙂  It’s already confusing, isn’t it?

We were all pumped up today to get a start on our flower bed so when school was over we headed out to scope things out…only to find that the flower bed may actually belong to our neighbors. 🙁  That was a little disappointing.  I’ll try to find out tomorrow for sure.

I’m on a mission to get a picture of that bobtail squirrel.  We have devised a plan.  We are going to put out food for the squirrels and get in an inconspicuous place (armed with the lens) and try to get a “shot”.  We put out some popcorn today without any success.

We did have the pleasure of watching one (from the camper window) get a nut, dig a hole in the ground, and bury it.  It was pretty neat.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen one bury something in the ground.

We also picked up our bike today.  I haven’t owned my own bike for, well, I guess it’s been since I was a child!  Wow, I had never really thought about it before but when I got older I always rode my Dad’s bikes.  I’m very excited to hit these roads (hopefully not literally) around here on my new two wheeled toy.  DSC_0316[1]I was standing in the bike accessories aisle last night thinking, “Should I get a helmet and knee pads?”  I haven’t seen any other adults around here wearing them so I opted to wait.  I may regret that decision in the future.  🙂  Maybe I need to restock my first aid kit too.

Well, that’s about it for today…pretty normal day.  We’re looking forward to next week when my parents are planning to come down and bring the rest of our things to us.  I hope it will ease their minds about our moving once they see what a great place this is.

One last thing…here are a few more pictures of our Indian field trip the other day.  The kids already want to go  back.
