4/16/2013: Day 27

My morning didn’t start out as planned…it was still dark when I woke up to run and didn’t get light enough until it was time for Andrew to leave for work. 🙁  I guess I’m going to have to either run in the dark in the morning or run in the dark at night until the days get longer.

We had a great day today.  We met up with one of the women I met at the first church we went to.  She and her two daughters and the girls and I went to the beach park on the lake.  The weather was perfect and I got some great pictures of the scenery and birds that call the beach home.  It’s one of those places you could go to over and over.  We’re looking forward to taking Andrew there one evening.

After finishing up school for the day, we had a hurried dinner and headed to Anna’s softball game.  They won again (14-0) and Anna got 2 hits and scored one run.  So proud! She really enjoys softball and has meshed well with the girls on her team.  Thankfully, we have a break the rest of the week in the evenings.

Although I didn’t get to go running this morning, I couldn’t totally skip out on exercise… that would be a terrible way to start a workout routine.  So, I hopped on our new bike and started  pedaling around here like a kid! It was awesome! It was starting to get dark too and I don’t know why and can’t really describe it but that was the greatest feeling.  The street lights were on, the wind was whipping through my hair, and I had the biggest smile on my face (I kept waiting any minute for a bug to fly in my mouth).  I just felt so thankful to God for placing us here and for the peace and contentment we have experienced.  This is exciting stuff!

By the way, we finally found “camper toilet paper” at Walmart the other day.  I just want to say I totally understand why it helps to eliminate clogged septic lines…it reminds me of a net and is thinner than paper.  You can imagine how well that works in doing the job it’s meant to do.  🙂

And I wanted to share one more thing.  When we were in Florida my sister-in-law introduced me to a treasure…Larabar…and now I’m sharing it with you.  It’s my newest addiction.  If you have never tried them, you gotta!  Not only are they delicious, but they are good for you.  Check them out.  You can find them at Walmart but Target carries the best selection (in the health bar section). DSC_0330[1]

Kristy how far is this beach from your campground? It is a beautiful place. I would love to be there just to wade in the water and see all the ducks and the birds. The girls look like they love it there. Is the weather always warm? I hope to get to visit you all some time this summer if your mom & dad gets to come down. We miss you all so much here in VA. The church seems so different without you all. I just can’t hardly get used to it. I love you. Aunt Ruby.
