5/3/2013: Day 44

“Well, I love a rainy night
I love a rainy night
I love to hear the thunder
Watch the lightning
When it lights up the sky
You know it makes me feel good…”

This is what is playing in my head as I sit here in bed and listen to the rain on the camper top…uh oh!!! The power just went out! No kidding!  It JUST went out!  Thankfully the battery is charged in my computer.  Now, this isn’t good.  We have a battery that is keeping a few small lights on (very dim, mind you).  It isn’t even storming.  Just raining.  OH NO!   It just occurred to me that Andrew is in the bathhouse!!!  IN THE DARK!!!!!  Poor thing.  I’ll bet that’s a little scary.  I can’t help but laugh!  Hahahahahaha!!!  He just pulled in…let’s see what he says… He said it went dark right after he got in (he finished showering) and had to feel his way out of there!  He said he sure was glad me and the girls weren’t up there showering too (me too… the screams in the night wouldn’t have been too pleasant for our neighbors).  He also said if he would’ve reached up and his pants were gone he would’ve really been worried!  🙂  I also just realized that we don’t have internet either.  I guess you won’t be able to read this post until tomorrow.   Tonight we’re camping “old school”…well, minus the tent. 😉

Today we visited our new bank for “Customer Appreciation Day.”  They had hotdogs, coleslaw, and popcorn (the girls loved that) and even gave away tomato plants!  I was impressed.  The wind was so chilly that we couldn’t stay a long time, though.  I’ll sure be glad when the weather gets HOT here!

This evening we were able to attend our first homeschool P.E. event!  I was excited to get to meet other homeschool families and get the girls plugged in with more friends.  They had a good time running around playing and meeting new people.  It did make me miss our group back home a little.  On the upside, I got to talk to a couple of the moms about options for next school year (co-op, Classical Conversations, and a Reader’s Guild).  Looking forward to it.

Well, you all know by the beginning of the post how our evening has ended!  Hopefully, the electricity will be back on before long.  But, if it isn’t, that’s okay too…pitch dark and rain make for a wonderful night’s sleep!
