Aaahhhh…I love sleeping with the windows open! It rained most of the night and when we woke up this morning that cool, damp air was blowing in and we could hear the birds chirping. It made it very difficult to get out of bed! I could’ve laid there for hours just dozing. There is something so (I don’t even know the word I’m looking for) serene, calming, tranquil…yes, TRANQUIL! That’s the word I’m looking for. There is something so tranquil about how it feels and sounds and smells. And it’s very nostalgic because it reminds me of my growing up years at home (before the heat pump) when we would sleep with the windows open at night. I loved waking up to a gentle breeze blowing the curtains and the sun filling up the room with it’s first warm rays and the smell, oh the smell! It was a mixture of grass and flowers and warmth and sun and water and cleanness (does that make sense?). I’m about to break out in song… just kidding (kind of). 😉
Okay, before I get too philosophical I’d better move on!
We spent most of the day doing math (and who says we don’t know how to have fun, huh?) to try and get caught up before our school year is over. We figured since it was raining on and off all morning we’d better use this “non-pool time” to our advantage. I’m starting to get stressed about finishing what I think we need to before our year is up. Hopefully things will go smoothly from here on.
The girls started VBS tonight and they had such a good time. Sarah wanted to go in her class by herself (praise the Lord) but I still stayed around and helped where I could. Andrew snapped a shot of Anna and Emma after we got home but Sarah was already sacked out in bed.
When Emma put her outfit on she said she looked like a sailor. I agreed. She started lumbering around the camper saying “I’ll sail the seven seas…aaarrrrhhhhh!”
After getting the girls settled in bed I went for a night walk. It. Was. Wonderful. I love being outside at night. Don’t worry, I’m not going to get all literary again. 🙂 I’ll quit now before I break out some Robert Frost! Good night!
