7/14/2013: Day 116

There’s no place like the mountains.

We made it back to Georgia this evening after a tiring trip across 4 states.  The change in temperature was phenomenal.  We left 100 degree weather and came home to rain, wind, and temps in the low 70’s.  Awesome.  I actually had to wear a sweatshirt this evening.  Goodbye Frog Togs…hello fleece!

I really had all intentions of keeping up with my blog while I was gone…as you can see, I was being overzealous!  Now I’m trying to pack the last 4 days into one post.  Warning!  This could be lengthy. 😉

Since I have the memory of a goldfish (and yes, it’s bad…I googled it), and can’t remember all the details OR the scores of the games, I’m going to give it to you in a nutshell!  Maybe this won’t be so long after all!

The Lady Indians’ game Friday night was a struggle.  They had a difficult time getting it together and took the loss 4-0.  The following day they battled it out with Murphy for the second time and fought hard to stay in it but ended up losing (can’t remember the score).  It was a tough loss but they have so much to be proud of.  The experiences they’ve had these past few days they will never forget and we have all bonded with each other, which has been really good for us since we’ve been the “newbies” in the group.  We did bring home an award, however…Sportsmanship!  They were presented with the plaque when our last game was over.  Such an honor.

And here’s some random snapshots from our trip as well.  It was such a fun time.  I hope we can make it back to the World Series again!

Fun times at Orange Leaf

When we got home this evening we unloaded, freshened up, and headed out again to the church picnic.  We were worn out but we really missed being with everyone.  It such an enjoyable end to a long day.  The food was wonderful and the service was too.  Outdoor music and food is good for the soul.

On the property was this amazing “tomb” carved out in the side of the hill.  I’m not sure how far back it went because we didn’t have a flashlight with us but it was really neat.  I had to get a picture of Andrew and the girls “bursting forth” from the tomb! 🙂

It’s so nice to be back in our home on wheels.  It seems much bigger now that we’ve spent the past week in a hotel room.

Looking forward to relaxing now that softball season is over.  Now I just have to make it through our last week of school and vacation can really begin!
