Gobble, Gobble from the Sunshine State…
We arrived in Florida during the very early morning hours on Thanksgiving day. We were so excited to be spending Thanksgiving with our family in Florida! This is my (and the girls) first Thanksgiving here. My sister in law and I hit the kitchen early to prepare to feed our brood.
Believe it or not that was the first time I’d ever eaten green bean casserole (at least that I can remember). I want to note that I’m not a green bean casserole snob. It’s just that it wasn’t a traditional dish in our home for the holidays. But now that I’ve tested the waters (or should I say tasted) I’ll be eating it again. 🙂
And no Thanksgiving is complete without pecan pie (according to Andrew, that is)!
We had a job keeping the kids out of the goodies until we were ready to eat.
But it was worth the wait. That was one delicious meal!
As good as the meal was, the best part of the day was hanging out talking and laughing and watching the kids play.
I’m so thankful we were able to make these wonderful memories with our Florida family. Even though our stay was short this visit, I’m so thankful we were able to make it. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
